Dr. Christina Brown was born and raised in Sarasota County. She attended Lemon Bay High School in Englewood, FL and graduated Summa Cum Laude. For her undergraduate education, she attended the University of Florida where she majored in Health Sciences.
Dr. Brown received a Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2009 in Fort Lauderdale, FL and graduated as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honors Society.
Six months of Dr. Brown's education was completed at an externship in Sarasota, FL at Center for Sight. There she completed specialty rotations in primary care optometry, cornea & refractive surgery, cataracts, glaucoma, retina, oculoplastics, and dermatology. For nearly two years, optometrist Dr. Brown provided excellent patient care at a full-scope primary care optometry practice in Englewood, FL. She had experience with pre/post-operative care for refractive and cataract surgery patients, standard & specialty contact lens fittings, geriatric eye care, and age-related eye disease management. Dr. Brown then became an independent optometrist and provided comprehensive eye care at several Walmart locations in Sarasota and Bradenton.
In 2012, she started her own practice adjacent to the Sarasota Costco Optical in order to continue to provide excellent vision care to her patients in the area. Brown Vision Care has superior technology and an excellent, friendly staff. Dr. Brown’s office is furnished with the latest state-of-the-art equipment including an all-digital Marco refraction system and a high image quality retinal camera. She has also implemented a paper-free office environment with electronic medical records and an easy online intake form for new patients.
Along with being a Florida licensed optometrist, Dr. Brown strives to be involved in her community as well as her profession. She is an active member of the American and Florida Optometric Associations and the Manatee Optometric Society. She participates in Women in Eyecare and has provided back-to-school vision screenings for Sarasota County students.
In her free time, Dr. Brown enjoys sailing, traveling, music, photography, and spending time with her dogs & family. Some of Dr. Brown’s photography can be seen hanging in the office waiting room.
